Taxation Head

Head of Taxation for Pune Office.

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Cost Accountant (CWA).

Work Experience:

15+ years of experience in tax management, preferably in the manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. More focus on Indirect tax laws such as GST/Customs

In-depth knowledge of direct and indirect taxes, international tax regulations, transfer pricing, and corporate tax strategy.

Tax Strategy & Planning:

• Develop and implement tax strategies in line with the company’s objectives and regulatory framework.
• Provide expert advice on tax implications for business operations, transactions, and strategic decisions.
• Lead tax planning for domestic and international operations, focusing on minimizing tax liabilities.

·  Tax Compliance:

• Ensure timely filing of all tax returns, including income tax, GST, VAT, customs, and other applicable taxes.
• Oversee the accuracy of tax-related financial reporting and disclosures.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance.

·  Tax Audits & Assessments:

• Handle tax assessments, audits, and litigation.

• Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and tax authorities to resolve tax disputes and assessments.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for tax-related matters to facilitate audits.

·  Risk Management:

• Identify and mitigate potential tax risks and exposures.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement processes that ensure tax compliance and minimize tax risks.

·  Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with tax authorities, consultants, and other external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as finance, legal, and supply chain to ensure tax-efficient business practices.
• Communicate tax-related matters to senior management and provide regular updates on the tax landscape.

·  Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, ensuring continuous learning and development.
• Allocate resources effectively to manage workloads and priorities within the tax department.

·  Tax Advisory:

• Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic business activities.
• Provide support to internal departments regarding tax-related matters, including contracts, transactions, and product pricing strategies.

Travelling to various locations of the company for above purpose
